Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personal injury law and proficiency in legal case management. This role is essential in supporting our attorneys by managing case files, conducting interviews, and performing legal research using tools such as Westlaw. The Paralegal Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research & draft legal documents
- Manage case files & assist with trial preparation
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients & external parties
- Provide administrative support to the legal team
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and documentation.
- Interview clients and witnesses to obtain necessary information for cases.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Maintain accurate records of case progress and deadlines within the legal case management system.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of personal injury law is highly desirable.
- Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research.
- Strong interviewing skills to gather pertinent information from clients and witnesses.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
