TurfTec Landscape is seeking an experienced Maintenance Crew Leader to lead a professional landscape maintenance crew serving commercial and residential properties throughout the Aiken area. This position is responsible for managing daily job assignments, ensuring high-quality workmanship, operating commercial landscape equipment, and developing crew members while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities
Crew Leadership
- Lead and supervise a landscape maintenance crew each day.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
- Train, coach, and mentor crew members on proper landscape maintenance techniques and equipment operation.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity throughout the day.
- Maintain a positive, professional work environment.
- Communicate job progress, material needs, equipment issues, and customer concerns to management.
Landscape Maintenance
- Mow, edge, string trim, and blow properties.
- Detail landscape beds through weeding, pruning, and debris removal.
- Prune shrubs, ornamental trees, and groundcovers.
- Monitor landscape health and report irrigation, pest, disease, or plant issues.
- Perform seasonal property cleanups.
- Ensure every property meets or exceeds TurfTec's quality standards before leaving.
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate commercial zero-turn mowers, walk-behind mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, edgers, and other landscape equipment.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
- Maintain clean, organized trucks, trailers, and shop areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and promote safe work habits among crew members.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of landscape maintenance experience.
- Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of proper mowing, pruning, edging, and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to identify common turf and ornamental plant issues is a plus.
- Valid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment.
- Dependable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- Typical start time: 7:00 AM
- Minimum 40 hours per week.
- Up to approximately 55 hours during peak season.
- Occasional Saturday work may be required based on workload or weather.
