As a Houseman, you will be responsible for supporting the housekeeping department by ensuring all public and private areas are spotless, sanitized, and inviting. Your proactive approach and dedication to cleanliness will help create memorable guest experiences and uphold the highest standards of sanitation and safety across our property.
Responsibilities
- Perform floor cleaning and floor care tasks using appropriate cleaning equipment, ensuring all surfaces are spotless and well-maintained.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring effective sanitation without compromising safety.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment to support housekeeping operations.
- Assist with cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and detailed sanitation of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Support hotel housekeeping management by preparing cleaning supplies, maintaining cleaning schedules, and ensuring all janitorial equipment is in good working order.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently to ensure safety during incidents or hazardous situations.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to staff requests and maintaining a positive attitude that enhances the guest experience.
Experience
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices and standards for sanitation and cleanliness.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques using various equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and steam cleaners.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with SDS guidelines.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during routine cleaning tasks.
- Strong understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to supporting team needs in a fast-paced setting.
