About Your New Role:
This role partners closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to optimize extrusion processes, support new material development, and improve equipment design and material handling to increase efficiency, quality, and profitability. The position focuses on identifying process improvements, standardizing best practices, and supporting production teams through training, troubleshooting, and data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve extrusion methods, efficiency, and product quality
Document, standardize, and communicate process improvements across the organization
Train management and production leadership on updated process methods and best practices
Support investigations of customer complaints related to manufacturing processes
Provide weekly reports detailing process improvements, activities, and performance results
Define process requirements for new equipment and machine redesigns in collaboration with Engineering
Assist in troubleshooting production and equipment-related issues
Develop and submit prioritized project lists, including schedules and cost estimates, to the VP of Manufacturing
Coordinate rework schedules and documentation for dies, screws, barrels, and rolls
Set production volume targets, monitor machine output, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
Ensure compliance with food safety requirements, GMPs, and all related procedures
Other duties as assigned.
Your Hours:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm - must have flexibility to provide support to a 24/7 facility.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Emphasis in Plastics a plus.
Complete understanding of Extrusion Process
Preferred 2+ years’ experience within a plastics manufacturing facility
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Detail oriented
Ability to work as part of a team
