Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Collection Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Contact clients via phone, email, or written correspondence to follow up on overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements
- Analyze accounts receivable data using Excel and accounting software to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts
- Reconcile accounts by reviewing debits & credits, ensuring accuracy in account analysis and account reconciliation processes
- Maintain detailed records of all collection activities, client communications, and payment histories in compliance with financial regulations
- Collaborate with accounts payable and other finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper account management
- Stay informed about consumer protection laws and industry-specific financial regulations to ensure all collection practices are compliant
- Assist with accounts payable processes when necessary, supporting overall revenue cycle management initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, or debt collection negotiation within a financial setting
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate effectively via telecommunication tools and maintain professionalism under pressure
- Demonstrated negotiation skills to facilitate debt recovery while maintaining positive client relationships
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, data entry (typing), and math calculations accurately in a fast-paced environment
