Job description
We are seeking an experienced Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment in Eureka, California. This position involves providing perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties while ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and efficient operating room workflow.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.
- Circulate and assist during a wide range of surgical procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment.
- Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and operating room best practices.
Requirements
- Active California RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedic surgery, endoscopic procedures, and urology.
- Vascular, robotic (Da Vinci), neuro, and thoracic surgery experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Epic charting and perioperative documentation.
- Ability to take call and float within scope as needed.
