Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, nail trimming, and ear cleaning with precision and care.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide professional advice on pet care.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitation of tools and equipment after each use.
- Assist with animal handling tasks such as dog training, kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and general animal care duties as needed.
- Support veterinary staff by providing basic veterinary technician or assistant tasks when required, including light animal health assessments or restraint.
- Lift heavy grooming supplies or pets safely to prevent injury while maintaining a lively pace to meet scheduling demands.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong background in pet coat styling and animal handling.
- Experience driving large vehicles Is a huge plus.
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles and procedures related to animal health is a plus.
- Ability to handle various animals confidently, including dogs of different sizes and breeds, as well as other companion animals like cats or small pets.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners professionally and empathetically.
- Experience with kennel management, pet sitting, or animal restraint techniques is advantageous.
- Comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks related to supplies or pets in a busy environment.
