Overview
We are a Christian School seeking dedicated care givers who will work with children in Preschool, Kindergarten, and/or grades 1-5. Hours may be prior to school, as early as 6:45 am and ending at 8:00 am on days school is open. The second shift begins at 3:30 pm and runs as late at 6:00 pm.
This job also requires the employee to work during school breaks. The breaks will be Fall Break-September 21-25, Thanksgiving Break-November 23-25 (closed November 26 & 27), Christmas Break-December 21-January 4 (closed December 24 & 25, December 31 & January 1), Winter Break-February 15-19, and Spring Break-April 5-9).
Responsibilities
- Monitoring children's activities, ensuring their safety, and intervening when necessary.
- Planning and leading activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintaining open communication with parents regarding children's progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Providing a nurturing and supportive environment, offering comfort and encouragement to children.
- Fostering a positive and stimulating atmosphere encouraging learning, creativity, and social interaction.
- Keeping the daycare environment clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.
Qualifications
- The ability to handle the challenges of childcare with patience, empathy, grace and kindness.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and other staff.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, plan activities, and maintain a structured environment.
- The ability to identify and address issues related to children's safety, health, and well-being.
- The ability to lift, carry, and move around with children and equipment.
- First aid and CPR certification or willingness to attend training.
- The ability to adjust to different situations, schedules, and the unique needs of each child.
- Be prompt, punctual, and on time to work.
