What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Bachelor's degree, required. Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist bachelor’s degree or comparable degree, required.

Experience:
-
Minimum of three years of healthcare experience, required.

Minimum of three years of leadership experience OR Minimum of three years of infection prevention and control experience, if not certified, required.

Licensure/certification/registration:
-
Infection Control or Epidemiology certification, preferred.
- If not certified, certification required within two and a half years after hire, required.

Current RN License if RN with no IP experience, required.
-
American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification for Med Tech with no IP experience, required.

Additional Skills Required:
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; understands and uses personal computer. Demonstrates analytical skills i.e. calculation of infection rates. Maintain membership in the Association of Professional in Infection control and Epidemiology at a state and national levels to provide opportunities for networking and education.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain Infection Surveillance Program

Review lab results as a case finding mechanism for identifying both Healthcare Associated
-
Infections (HAIs) and community associated infections.

Collect and validate data items such as device days, patient days, device type, etc.

Communicate infection prevention data to the Infection Prevention Committee, hospital leadership, environment of care committee, clinical improvement committee, and specific hospital units/departments as appropriate.

Identify Communicable Diseases, report these to the Health Department and initiate control measures if needed.
