Qualifications:

Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate in Special Education

Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to plan instruction, analyze data, and implement interventions and enrichments for students

Must have the knowledge of theories of learning and child development appropriate for the Classroom

Demonstrate ability to develop and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities & Duties:

Establish a positive learning environment with highly effective instruction and appropriate routines and procedures meeting the needs of the students

Employ a variety of instructional techniques to ensure student growth

Communicate student progress and concerns regularly with parents and colleagues

Develop and maintain classroom conducive to effective learning with appropriate routines and procedures

Work collaboratively within department to implement best practices and meet students’ academic needs

Develop and implement positive behavior support plans to help support individual student needs

Develop and conduct IEP meetings (reevaluation, initial and annual)
-
Attendance is an essential job function
