Duties in this position include but are not limited to:
- Prepare, proof, and edit all Probate Court pleadings, and discovery, based on information provided by the client
- Communicate (by letter, email, phone, and in-person) regularly with clients regarding the status of their matter, additional information needed, and the next steps
- Occasionally communicate with agencies and institutions to research information on behalf of the clients
- Understand and assist in the process of transferring the title of every kind of asset
- Review inventories and asset lists submitted by the client for accuracy and completeness
- Clarify any abbreviations, numbers, etc. May need to contact clients or Financial Advisors by phone or in writing for clarification
- Make appropriate database, time billing, and status report entries daily
- Provide ongoing client support, which includes receiving all client telephone calls, emails, and letters. Responsible for answering all routine client questions, which includes researching and acting or delegating to others. Refer complex legal questions to the attorney
- Calendar deadlines correctly and take steps necessary to meet the deadline
- Obtain basic information from clients and scheduling appointments
- Organizing and maintaining client files
- Additional duties as assigned by the attorneys
Education and Experience:
- An undergraduate degree, paralegal certificate, or related field of study; or equivalent work experience
- Extreme attention to detail and organization with the ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet assigned project deadlines
- Exhibits a results-oriented approach to tasks, assignments, and responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize effectively and be flexible
- Exceptional phone etiquette, poised and professional demeanor with a strong will to sell and expand client relationships
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision. Desire to learn and embrace coaching for development
- Experience with MyCase, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Calendar
- Probate experience preferred but not required
