Position Overview
Edelbrock Group is seeking an experienced CNC Technical Specialist to support machining operations within our Manifolds Department in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
This is a highly skilled, hands-on manufacturing role that combines CNC machine setup and operation, basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, blueprint interpretation, precision inspection, and CMM operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machining experience and the ability to independently address routine setup, tooling, machine recovery, quality, and production issues. This position works a consistent four-day, second-shift schedule from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and monitor Haas and Makino CNC machines used in the production of automotive manifolds and related components.
- Make appropriate offset and tooling adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate CNC machines during regular production and provide production coverage as needed.
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and routine maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Diagnose common machine alarms, tool changer issues, sensor issues, lubrication concerns, and other routine operational problems.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments within your level of training and authorization.
- Complete automatic tool changer and tool recovery procedures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
- Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Operate a coordinate measuring machine using established inspection programs.
- Review and interpret CMM inspection results and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of CNC machine controls, offsets, tooling, workholding, and machine recovery procedures.
- Ability to complete automatic tool changer and tool recovery procedures.
- Ability to perform basic CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite during the scheduled second-shift hours of Monday through Thursday, 3:15 p.m.–1:45 a.m.
