Position Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor assists in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure all guest rooms, public areas, laundry areas, and back-of-house spaces meet Hilton brand standards and hotel cleanliness expectations. This position requires strong leadership, communication, inspection skills, and the ability to work alongside the team when needed.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, professional, dependable, and able to motivate team members while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Daily Operations
- Supervise Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Laundry Attendants during assigned shifts
- Assign daily boards and work assignments to housekeeping team members
- Conduct daily housekeeping huddles and communicate hotel occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, late checkouts, VIPs, and special requests
- Monitor productivity and ensure rooms are cleaned within company standards
- Coordinate closely with Front Desk and Maintenance departments regarding room status and guest needs
- Assist with cleaning guestrooms and public areas when necessary
- Perform room inspections to ensure cleanliness and brand standards are met
- Follow up on maintenance issues and submit work orders as needed
- Ensure housekeeping carts, closets, storage areas, and laundry areas remain clean, stocked, and organized
Training & Team Development
- Train new housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, brand standards, safety practices, and productivity expectations
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to improve team performance
- Hold team members accountable for attendance, quality, professionalism, and productivity standards
- Assist with employee evaluations, disciplinary documentation, and performance improvement efforts as directed by management
- Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
Quality Control & Guest Service
- Ensure all guestrooms are cleaned thoroughly and consistently according to Hilton standards
- Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns
- Assist in resolving guest complaints professionally and efficiently
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and cleanliness feedback to identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure housekeeping supplies, linens, and amenities are stocked appropriately
- Ensure Lost & Found items are handled according to hotel procedures
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, hotel policies, and safety procedures
- Maintain proper chemical usage and storage practices
- Ensure team members follow key control and security procedures
- Report safety hazards and maintenance concerns immediately
- Ensure housekeeping equipment is maintained properly and repairs are reported when needed
Qualifications
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Hilton experience preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
