Job Summary
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Help maintain accurate medical records using electronic health systems like Cerner.
- Provide emotional support to residents and their families through effective communication.
- Assist in mobility and transportation of patients within the facility.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the living environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Participate in patient care planning meetings and contribute insights based on observations
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills related to home community care.
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living or memory care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Cerner is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a teaching hospital environment.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for extended periods and lifting patients when necessary.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on dignity and respect.
