Join a Growing Specialty Infusion Practice
AdaptIV Infusion is a modern, patient-focused ambulatory infusion center dedicated to providing an exceptional infusion experience for patients receiving specialty medications. We partner with physicians across multiple specialties to make access to care as seamless as possible.
We currently operate one location in the Houston area with a second location opening soon, and we're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Infusion Intake Coordinator to join our growing team.
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. The role may be performed remotely, though occasional onsite meetings or training may be needed.
What You'll Do
You'll serve as the primary coordinator for new patient referrals, helping move patients from referral to treatment quickly and accurately.
Responsibilities include:
- Receive and process new patient referrals
- Verify commercial insurance benefits and eligibility
- Obtain prior authorizations and submit supporting documentation
- Communicate with physician offices regarding missing documentation
- Coordinate with patients regarding scheduling and next steps
- Track referrals through each stage of the intake process
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR
- Work closely with nursing, operations, and business development teams
- Follow up on outstanding authorizations and referrals to minimize delays
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and patient access
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in an infusion center, specialty pharmacy, oncology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, neurology, or similar specialty practice
- Prior authorization and insurance verification experience required
- Familiarity with commercial insurance plans and payer requirements
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent phone and written communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- High attention to detail
- EMR/EHR experience preferred
- Buy-and-bill infusion experience
- Specialty biologic medications (IVIG, biologics, neurology, rheumatology, gastroenterology)
- Experience with payer portals
