Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Project Manager specializing in Transportation Engineering, where you will lead the planning, design, and execution of complex transportation infrastructure projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project schedules, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation standards. Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage transportation projects from planning through design and construction.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
- Lead internal staff and subconsultants.
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, utilities, contractors, and other consultants.
- Monitor project progress and resolve technical and project issues.
- Lead project and client meetings.
Transportation Design
- Lead the design of roadway and transportation improvement projects.
- Oversee roadway widening, intersection improvements, turn lanes, rehabilitation, and reconstruction projects.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Coordinate roadway design with drainage, traffic, utilities, structures, and other disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure quality of project deliverables.
Client & Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, TxDOT, counties, and municipalities.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and presentations.
- Participate in project interviews and business development activities.
- Identify opportunities to develop new clients and expand existing relationships.
Construction Support
- Provide engineering support during construction.
- Respond to RFIs and review contractor submittals.
- Assist with field issues and design changes.
- Attend construction meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Texas PE license required.
- 9+ years of transportation/roadway engineering experience.
- Strong experience with roadway planning, design, and construction support.
- Experience with roadway widening, intersections, turn lanes, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
- Strong knowledge of TxDOT and local roadway design standards.
- Experience preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
- MicroStation/OpenRoads experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet schedules and budgets.
- Proposal and business development experience preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with TxDOT, Harris County, Fort Bend County, City of Houston, and other local agencies.
- Experience managing large or complex transportation projects.
- Established relationships with transportation and municipal clients.
- Experience with traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, pedestrian facilities, or other transportation improvements.
