Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person - Letha, Idaho
About ATTCO, Inc.:
ATTCO, Inc. is a 4th generation family owned and operated business located in Letha, Idaho. In 1969, our founder Edwin (Chris) Christensen saw a need for a quality, safe lifting device in the manufacturing industry, and the Sky Hook lifting device was born. More than 50 years later, the Sky Hook product line has evolved to include a wide range of small sub-500 lb. manual lifting devices, mobile and stationary lifting bases, under-hook devices, and custom lifting accessories.
Our Sky Hook products are used by manufacturers across the country as a lightweight, straightforward, and simple-to-operate alternative to bulky overhead cranes, cumbersome bridge cranes, and unsuitable engine lifts or cherry pickers. We have been protecting operators and helping prevent lifting injuries for over 50 years, and that remains our primary focus today.
Why We Are Hiring:
We are currently a 7-person shop floor team and are adding a welding-focused position to support increased production demand. Welding is a key position in our production flow, and critical for lifting devices. The right person will have a direct impact on our ability to produce quality products, meet delivery expectations, and continue growing in a controlled and sustainable way.
This is not an entry-level welding position. We are looking for someone who can actually weld. The right candidate may not have decades of experience, but they should be seasoned, confident, and comfortable producing clean, consistent MIG welds in a manufacturing environment. Welds have to be finished-product aesthetic and above all, structurally sound.
Job Description:
Work in concert with a small team of hard working and focused coworkers, each with their own specialty and department, to produce quality Sky Hook lifting equipment in a just-in-time manufacturing environment.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys MIG welding, fit-up, fixture-based production, fabrication support, and practical shop problem-solving. Our work is repeatable enough to build skill and efficiency, but varied enough that the right person will need to think, adjust, and help improve the process as our production needs grow.
The MIG Welder / Fabricator will be responsible for welding Sky Hook components and assemblies, preparing parts, using fixtures, operating basic shop equipment, and inspecting work for quality and craftsmanship. This person should take pride in accurate parts, clean welds, strong work ethic, and being part of a small team where each person’s work matters.
Job Responsibilities:
· MIG weld steel components and assemblies for Sky Hook lifting equipment
· Fit, tack, and weld parts using fixtures, drawings, and established shop processes
· Produce clean, consistent welds that meet company quality standards
· Perform weld prep, grinding, drilling, deburring, and basic fabrication tasks
· Operate common shop equipment including saws, belt sanders, grinders, drill press, hand tools, and measuring tools
· Assist with fixture use, fixture setup, and fixture improvements as production needs change
· Inspect welds and finished parts for quality, consistency, squareness, and craftsmanship
· Read and follow basic drawings, measurements, work instructions, and production expectations
· Work with assembly, powder coating, machining, and shipping to keep product moving through the shop
· Think critically and help solve practical production problems as they arise
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized welding/fabrication area
· Manage a tight production schedule while maintaining quality standards
· Support other shop tasks as needed in a small-team manufacturing environment
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
· MIG welding experience required
· Must be comfortable making quality MIG welds without constant supervision
· Fabrication and fit-up experience strongly preferred

· Mobile and capable of lifting 50 lbs.
· Dependable, on-time, and able to maintain a full 40-hour work week
· Capable of working independently while communicating well with a small team
· Able to work under pressure to meet manufacturing and shipping expectations
· Willing to help outside of welding when needed to support production flow
· Long-term prospects preferred
Preferred Experience:
· Fixture welding experience
· Small batch manufacturing experience
· Light fabrication experience
· Experience welding tube, plate, brackets, frames, or mechanical assemblies
· Basic manual mill experience
