Job Summary
Join our manufacturing operations team as an Operator - Chemical Plant! In this role, you will be hands on in our production process, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. in the blend and manufacture of paints and adhesives. Attention to detail a must, ability to perform basic math, and must be able to read and write in the english language.
Duties
- Operate, monitor, control, and record batches, including feeds, temperatures, and pressures.
- Sample, test, and record product results to ensure consistent quality.
- Conduct all activities in compliance with plant safety/environmental/quality standards.
- Weigh out and add raw materials accurately based on batch instructions.
- Load finished product bulk tankers, totes and drums.
- Assist with preparations for maintenance activities.
- Practice good area housekeeping.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
- May be asked to perform other tasks as needed to meet production goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in English (verbal and written)
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute decimals and percentages
- Ability to operate forklifts
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and overtime
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic computer skills (data entry, email, Microsoft Office)
Preferred
- Proven experience working in a chemical plant
- Proven experience making Latex based materials
- Technical school education
