The Lee County Highway Department is seeking a dependable and hardworking Highway Maintenance Worker to join our team.
Pay Rate: $31.31 per hour
Position Summary
The Highway Maintenance Worker performs a variety of highway maintenance duties, including:

Snow and ice removal
-
Shoulder maintenance
-
Roadway stripping
-
Ditch cleaning
-
Roadside vegetation control
-
Culvert installation
-
Operation of heavy equipment
-
Other highway maintenance duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Experience in highway maintenance activities and heavy equipment operation
-
Experience with snow and ice removal on highway systems is preferred
-
Must possess a valid State of Illinois Class B CDL with air brakes
-
Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL within six months of hire
-
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work
-
Must comply with the County's Drug and Alcohol Policy
-
Successful completion of a background check is required
