Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, cycle counts, and updating warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400 or similar platforms
- Perform order picking, packing, and fulfillment tasks using RF scanners and order picker equipment to ensure timely shipment processing
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods, and documenting discrepancies
- Handle materials handling tasks including heavy lifting, stocking shelves, and organizing warehouse space for optimal flow
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards by following proper procedures for heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge requirements
- Support warehouse supervision by participating in inventory management initiatives and ensuring adherence to warehouse distribution protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers with knowledge of inventory management systems
- Valid certification for operating forklifts, reach trucks, cranes or other heavy equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of materials handling tools such as pallet jacks and order pickers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards including OSHA regulations
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and order fulfillment tasks
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving, manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
