The After School Group Leader is responsible for the overall safety, development, management, organization, and planning of their group. This includes integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts, and group-building activities.

Location: 125 East 181st Street, Bronx, New York 10453
Hours: Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt
Schedule: School Year / September - June / Monday - Friday, 2 pm to 6 pm
Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 / hour
Major Duties:
Develop and facilitate a sequenced and thematic curriculum and various other activities, including arts & crafts. Curriculum should promote creativity, self-expression, opportunity for mastery, and emotional growth and future focus/career exploration as well as professional growth.
Discuss behavior problems, safety concerns, and situations with supervisor as they emerge, and complete necessary documentation and paperwork.
Foster a positive youth development approach focusing on a strengths-based environment, fostering a sense of belonging, independence, generosity, mastery, safety, and community for participants.
Supervise support staff assigned to your group (including but not limited to assistant group leader, interns, volunteers, etc.).
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School/ GED Diploma and 1 year of related experience in leading and participating in youth group development-related activities required.
Experience building a camp culture through chants, team building activities, and community building preferred.
Can contribute a talent or experience in arts, music, crafts, etc. a plus.
