Little Scholars Academy of California (LSAOC) is a Montessori preschool located in Orange, CA, offering care and education for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years old. Our Montessori-trained and certified teachers create an environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace.

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Toddler Primary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, experience working with children ages 2–4, and the ability to create a nurturing, engaging environment that supports each child's individual growth and development. This role works closely with families, colleagues, and school leadership to foster a positive and collaborative school community.
Responsibilities
- Promote emotional, intellectual, social, and practical life development through engaging Montessori lessons and activities
- Foster independence, curiosity, concentration, and active participation through hands-on learning experiences
- Observe, guide, and assess scholars to support their individual growth and developmental milestones
- Prepare, organize, and maintain a clean, inviting, and orderly classroom environment
- Maintain Montessori materials and ensure the classroom is developmentally appropriate, engaging, and well-prepared
- Lead classroom activities and ensure all duties and responsibilities are fulfilled
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with scholars, families, and staff
- Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to uphold a positive and vibrant Montessori community
- Maintain professionalism by adhering to school policies, licensing regulations, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Montessori Toddler credential (AMI, AMS, MACTE-accredited, or currently in progress) preferred
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of 12 ECE units required by California state licensing, including 3 Infant/Toddler units
- Minimum of 2 years of experience guiding a toddler or Montessori classroom serving children ages 2–4
- Knowledge of California State Licensing (Title 22) regulations for child care centers
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of Live Scan fingerprinting, criminal background clearance, and required health screenings
- Compliance with applicable vaccination requirements for child care employees
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with a team, and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed for caregiving responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with classroom management and team leadership
- Prior experience photographing and sharing classroom moments with families
- Reliable transportation
