American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Room position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience, prior travel experience, and a GA or compact RN license.

Acute care hospital Emergency Room setting with 12 beds, including 2 trauma bays, 1 fast track area (ESI 4-5) with 4 clinic rooms, and 1 seclusion room for psychiatric holds

Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics, ranging from minor walk-in cases to trauma; trauma cases are stabilized and airlifted out, and pediatric patients are transferred out

Averages approximately 70 patient visits per day

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4

EMR: MEDITECH

12-hour night shifts; shift starts at 6:45 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holidays rotate with permanent staff

No floating required

Unit-level orientation consists of 3 shifts (16 hours total)

Ventilator management is part of the role

Nurses perform their own lab draws
-
IV team available for midlines and difficult sticks (8 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday)

Respiratory therapy available 24/7; pharmacy is in-house during the day and accessible via Omnicell or a main facility pharmacist until midnight

Active GA or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, CPI, and TNCC
-
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required

At least 1 prior travel nursing contract required

MEDITECH EMR experience preferred

Driver's license required for consideration

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement

Supported by a team that includes 1 paramedic per shift (typically runs clinic and responds to traumas/codes), at least 1 ER tech per shift, nurse externs, charge nurses (who do not take patients), and security/patient sitters for 1:1 psych hold observation

1 attending physician and 2 mid-level providers staff the department per shift on staggered schedules

Scrub colors: hunter green pants, white top, and white jacket required

Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
