Help Someone Take the First Step
A phone call to admissions can be the moment someone decides to seek help. As an
Admissions Coordinator at Turning Point, you'll help turn that call into a pathway to
treatment. We're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, confident,
organized, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. Success in this
role requires a willingness to learn, openness to feedback, accountability, and the ability
to adapt and problem-solve when priorities change.
What to Expect in This Role
This is not a typical desk job. Admissions can be busy, and you'll often manage
multiple calls, admissions, deadlines, and requests at the same time.
You can expect to:
* Manage multiple admissions, phone calls, insurance verifications, and follow-ups
simultaneously.
* Interact with clients face-to-face in a professional, compassionate, and respectful
manner, including individuals who may be experiencing stress, anxiety, or
uncertainty.
* Work with clients and families who may be anxious, upset, or experiencing a
crisis.
* Coordinate with clinical, medical, financial, and administrative teams.
* Work with deadlines and time-sensitive information.
* Use an EHR, Google Sheets, and multiple computer systems throughout the day.
* Adjust quickly when client needs, schedules, staffing, or priorities change.
* Receive coaching and be expected to apply feedback.
* Work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance.
* Stay professional and composed when things become busy or challenging.
* Be accountable for completing tasks and following through.
* Participate in a mandatory rotating weekend on-call schedule.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You'll help move prospective clients through the admissions process from the initial
inquiry through admission, including:
* Responding to calls, inquiries, and referral requests.
* Completing initial screenings and gathering required information.
* Verifying insurance benefits and eligibility.
* Coordinating assessments, medical clearances, transportation, and admission
schedules.
* Entering and maintaining accurate information in the EHR.
* Tracking admissions and outstanding requirements using Google Sheets and
other systems.
* Communicating with referral sources, clients, families, and internal departments.
* Identifying barriers and helping find solutions.
* Maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting confidential information.
* Providing professional, compassionate customer service throughout the process.
The Person We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you:
* Have at least 2 years of customer service, healthcare, admissions, intake,
behavioral health, or related experience.
* Individuals with lived experience in recovery and at least 2 years of
sustained recovery are encouraged to apply. Your personal experience can
provide valuable insight and compassion when supporting individuals and
families taking their first steps toward treatment.
* Is compassionate, empathetic, and genuinely committed to understanding and
responding to each client’s individual needs.
* Communicate clearly and professionally.
* Are highly organized and detail-oriented.
* Can prioritize when everything feels important.
* Are comfortable learning new technology and navigating multiple systems.
* Have working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
* Have experience with or knowledge of EHR systems.
* Are comfortable using Google Sheets/Google Workspace.
* Can work independently and as part of a team.
* Take responsibility for your work and follow through.
* Accepts feedback and is willing to learn and grow.
* Are dependable and understand the importance of consistent attendance.
* Adapts well when priorities, schedules, or client needs change.
* Can remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
* Are willing to participate in the required rotating weekend on-call schedule.
A Great Fit for This Position Is Someone Who...
Shows up. Communicates. Learns. Adapts. Follows through.
We're looking for someone who understands that admissions is a team effort and that
reliability matters. A missed call, incomplete task, or delayed follow-up can impact
someone's ability to access treatment.
90-Day Introductory Period
New employees will complete a 90-day introductory/probationary period. During this
time, we'll focus on training, performance, attendance, reliability, communication,
accuracy, adaptability, teamwork, and your ability to independently meet the
expectations of the position.
Successful completion of the 90-day period does not guarantee continued employment
and does not change the at-will employment relationship.
Why Turning Point?
You'll be joining a team doing work that matters. Every day brings an opportunity to help
someone access treatment and begin their recovery journey.
If you're looking for a position where your work has a direct impact, and where being
dependable and adaptable truly matters, we'd like to meet you.
