We are looking for a friendly and energetic person to join our veterinary clinic team as a receptionist. Our receptionists are a big part of our clinic as they are the first face clients see when they walk in the door, and the person they talk to most on the phone. We need someone who is reliable, hardworking, and is a team player able to get along with everyone. We are a fast paced, 2 doctor clinic that takes care of cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds, and we want someone to join our team who will become as dedicated to the care of our patients and clients as we are.
Job Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting clients and pets
- Making appointments
- Preparing files for appointments
- Getting basic information on clients/patients and the reason for their visit
- Answering a multi-line phone system, taking messages and writing down prescription refill requests
- Escort clients/patients to exam rooms
- Checking in and receipting out clients
- Answering basic client questions and client education on over the counter products such as heartworm prevention

- Basic medical terminology (on job training)
- Basics on understanding various medications and procedures (on job training)
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting at least 25 lbs
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, animal urine and feces, possible bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
- Clients conflicts may arise; able to handle difficult clients in a professional manner
Experience:
- Preferred but will train the right person
Other Requirement:
- Able to stay past closing if needed. Our goal is to leave on time, but our priority is helping our patients, and sometimes that requires staying after closing for a short amount of time.
- Flexible hours; we need someone who is able to work varying shifts. We are mostly looking to fill Thursdays, Fridays and every other Saturday, but will accommodate where we can.
