Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Location: Rocky Mount, NC
Position Summary
A Caring Heart Case Management, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support for an adult in our Rocky Mount day program. This role involves assisting the individual throughout the day and ensuring safe transportation at the end of the program. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care, supervision, and daily support.
- Assist with daily activities, community outings, personal care, and recreational engagement.
- Implement approved ISP (Individual Support Plan) goals throughout the day.
- Provide structured, purposeful activities aligned with short-range goals.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment that promotes independence.
- Complete accurate, detailed, and timely service notes (PIE/service documentation required).
- Transport the member from their home to the day program and back everyday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
- Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, professionally, and reliably.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: $15.00 per hour

Transportation Note
The member is dropped off at the day program in the morning. The DSP will be responsible for transporting the member at the end of the day to their home.

- Do you have a safe and suitable vehicle for use at work?
- Are you able to physically push, pull, or lift 25 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds unassisted occasionally?
- Are you comfortable assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) after receiving training? These tasks may include but are not limited to: Personal Care, Mobility Support, Meal Preparation & Feeding, Toileting & Continence Care, and/or Household Tasks. Would you be comfortable performing these essential duties as part of your role?
- Training Requirements: This position requires successful completion of four paid training days (including Onboarding, in-person CPR/First Aid or Safety Care sessions, and one at-home Relias module). Training days may not be consecutive, and travel up to one hour may be required depending on the location. Compensation is provided if travel is required and attendance is confirmed. All training must be completed prior to starting your official schedule. Are you able to meet these training requirements?
