WARDROBE SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Classification: Full-Time; Seasonal; Non-Exempt
Start: Monday, September 21st End: Friday, May 28th
Reports to: Costume Shop Supervisor & Associate Costume Shop Supervisor
Pay: $19/hr; bi-weekly
Cleveland Play House (CPH) is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor to join the production team and
supervise and run main stage productions.
Responsibilities include:

At the beginning of each season, set up and stock the two mainstage wardrobe rooms.
- Notify costume shop management about any wardrobe equipment and supply inventory needs
throughout the season.
- For each show create the Costume Plot, Preset List, Run Sheet, Post Show Duties and Costume

Check-In/Out Sheets and distribute to the wardrobe crew.

Coordinate with stage management the setup of dressing rooms prior to the beginning of tech.

Coordinate with the production team on the location of quick change booths and verify the setup of each booth includes a mirror, coat hooks, a flat surface area and rug.
- Articulate to the wardrobe staff their preshow duties, presets, costume changes, and post-show
duties, and any specific instructions that go with each duty. -
Coordinate with costume shop management a schedule for daily laundry and weekly dry
cleaning. -
Communicate with stage management any notes that need to be relayed in show reports.

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Read, sign and uphold the CPH work rules and expectations document.

Professionally represent Cleveland Play Houe to visiting artists and patrons.

Attend and participate in all assigned staff training sessions, department meetings and show
specific training within the organization.
Physical requirements:

Dexterity to move quickly and quietly

Ability to lift arm above the head

Agility to kneel or crouch down on the floor

Strength to move rolling racks loaded with costumes and accessories

Capability to climb ladders for pulling and stocking purposes
Required skills and experiences include:

Understanding of clothing and costume construction
-
Experience working on wardrobe crews and executing quick changes
-
Laundry experience
-
Skilled at using steamers, industrial and domestic irons

Possess proficient hand sewing and machine stitching

Proficient at leading a team
-
Have strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

Possess an eye for detail

Capacity to identify challenges and to come up with options and solutions

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Dropbox
Work Schedule:
-
Shop hours when not running a show M – F 9am – 6 pm. During run of the show- 6 days a week,
Tuesday – Sunday. Tech week and Preview Performances include morning, afternoon, evening and
weekend hours. Performances primarily evening and weekend hours with two shows Saturdays and
Sundays; 4 – hour minimum calls
