The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following disciplines:
Nutritional Science and Dietetics
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Dietetics and Food Administration.
OR
2. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the above
AND a Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Public Health, or Family and Consumer Studies/Home Economics.
OR
3. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Dietetics and Food Administration AND certification as a Registered Dietician.
4. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Nutritional Science and Dietetics.
(California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
OR
5. The equivalent qualifications.
(Candidates who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form. Refer to the Equivalency Procedures below. This is not a process to waive the minimum qualifications.)
AND
6 Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff, faculty, and students.

For non-Master’s degree disciplines, please note that the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
