Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with speed and precision, ensuring timely delivery during busy hours
- Execute food preparation tasks including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production to meet quality standards
- Follow all food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting daily specials or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Handle food handling responsibilities with care, ensuring proper portioning, presentation, and adherence to dietary restrictions
- Maintain high-volume production standards while managing multiple orders simultaneously
- Support the culinary team with meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
Experience
- Proven experience as a short order cook or in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food industry best practices, including food safety management and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation methods
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools required for efficient food handling
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating awareness of special dietary needs and meal planning
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
- Prior experience in fine dining environments or high-volume kitchens is highly desirable
