POSITION SUMMARY:
The employee be responsible for accurately processing insurance claims and overseeing the billing process for patients. Duties include processing payments on behalf of a patient, maintaining organized financial records to aid reporting and calculating bill totals by looking through previous financial statements. Responsible for the handling of all correspondence related to the billing of a claim for all lines of business, answers questions and updates accounts as necessary. Responsible for submission of all electronic claims through PC-based processing system. Submits paper claims to non-electronic carriers with required documentation. Responsible for correcting any errors made by other department to ensure claims are submitted correctly. The Billing Specialist performs account, customer service and organizational tasks to promote the financial health of SWGA/SWE.
MAJOR DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS:
· Submit bills to insurance organizations and patients
· Coordinate with numerous working teams to guarantee quality of data and uniformity
· Focus on specific patient accounts regarding matters of billing and reimbursement
· Proven knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOBs)
· Searching each financial statement for any payment’s inconsistencies or errors
· Collaborating with patients or customers, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors
· Creating invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer or patient
· Inputting payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into an individual account
· Finding financial solutions for patients or customers who may need payment assistance
· Informing patients or customers of any missed or upcoming payment deadlines
· Calculating and tracking various company financial statements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Prefer 2 years experience in medical billing
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Medical insurance billing required
· Knowledge in patient billing
· Ability to organize and prioritize work.
· Excellent attention to detail
· Proficient use of Athena

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.70 - $17.10 per hour
