Fire Sprinkler Inspector

About the Position
We are a growing fire protection contractor seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspection, testing, and maintenance activities for fire sprinkler and related water-based fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA 25, applicable codes, and customer requirements.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently with customers and building representatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems.
- Conduct NFPA 25 inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect wet, dry, preaction, and standpipe systems.
- Inspect fire pumps, valves, backflow preventers, alarm devices, and related components.
- Perform required flow tests and other system testing.
- Identify deficiencies and document inspection findings accurately.
- Prepare clear inspection reports and deficiency reports.
- Communicate deficiencies and recommended corrective actions to customers.
- Coordinate required repairs and follow-up inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, and system conditions.
- Communicate professionally with property managers, building owners, facility personnel, and AHJs when necessary.
- Maintain inspection equipment, tools, and company vehicles.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire codes, and industry requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience inspecting and testing fire sprinkler systems.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 25.
- Ability to read and understand sprinkler system drawings and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily inspection schedules.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to perform physical work, including climbing ladders and accessing mechanical rooms and other equipment areas.
Preferred:
- NICET Level II – Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems (ITWBS) or higher.
- Experience with fire pump testing.
- Experience with dry, preaction, and standpipe systems.
- Experience with backflow preventer testing.
- Experience with fire sprinkler repairs and service.
- Experience working with inspection software and electronic reporting systems.
- NICET certification or other relevant fire protection credentials.

Compensation & Benefits
$70,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
