This is a unique opportunity for a credentialed gemologist who enjoys the technical side of the jewelry industry and wants to focus primarily on appraisal work rather than retail sales.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform gemological evaluations on diamonds, colored gemstones, and finished jewelry
- Prepare detailed insurance replacement appraisals and jewelry documentation
- Identify gemstones, metals, treatments, and jewelry construction methods
- Conduct appraisal intake and client consultations
- Educate clients regarding appraisal needs, values, and documentation
- Maintain accurate digital records and appraisal files
- Collaborate with store leadership and sales professionals to support client needs
- Assist in improving appraisal turnaround times and department efficiency

Qualifications
Required
- GIA Graduate Gemologist (GG) credential
- Previous jewelry appraisal experience
- Experience preparing insurance replacement appraisals
- Strong gem identification and diamond grading skills
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with jewelry appraisal software and digital record systems
Preferred
- Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP)
- NAJA, ASA, ISA, or comparable appraisal credentials
- Experience with estate, inherited, antique, and vintage jewelry
- Experience with appraisal management software
- Knowledge of current jewelry market pricing and valuation methodologies

Compensation
Competitive compensation will be based on experience, credentials, and appraisal expertise.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
