Position Overview:
Hotel ZaZa Museum District is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is integral to delivering an exceptional dining experience that reflects our brand’s commitment to luxury, creativity, and service excellence.
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality menu items in a fast-paced kitchen environment while adhering to established recipes, food safety standards, and presentation guidelines. The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary arts, thrives under pressure, and demonstrates strong teamwork and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook restaurant menu items according to established recipes, plating standards, and event specifications
- Ensure consistency, quality, and portion control in all dishes
- Accurately execute orders in a timely manner during service periods
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station at all times
- Communicate effectively with culinary leadership regarding timing, quality, and production needs
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team and front-of-house staff to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and proper labeling of food items
- Uphold Hotel ZaZa culinary standards, grooming guidelines, and safety protocols
- Support opening and closing duties and assist other culinary team members as needed
Previous hotel or luxury culinary experience preferred
- Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and banquet food production
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event business
