Overview
Join our team as a non-CDL Box Truck Driver delivering USPS mail and packages to post offices around southeast Idaho. We have two routes that travel around 130 miles round trip. This position is to perform one of these routes 2-3 days a week and the other 1-2 days a week. This is a great side job for college students or someone needing a second job. Routes run between around 3:00am to 9:30am.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks along assigned routes to deliver freight promptly and accurately
- Sorting Packages and Mail prior to loading.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as lift gates and pallet jacks.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, and tires
- Clocking in and out when required and following schedule.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial driving and route driving procedures
- Communicate effectively with managers and USPS post masters regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes
- Assist with securing freight properly to prevent damage during transit and ensure compliance with load safety standards
Qualifications
- Be able to Pass DOT medical examination, USPS background check and drug test.
- Safe driving history.
- Some experience in truck driving, delivery routes, or freight transportation with a focus on safety and customer service
- Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Be able to lift up to 70lbs
Pay: From $34.97 per hour
