Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating interactive activities, games, and cultural experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Incorporate experiential learning opportunities to enhance language skills and cultural understanding.
- Collaborate with program coordinator/ director and other staff to develop curriculum materials aligned with educational standards and youth development goals.
- Implement first aid protocols and respond promptly to any medical or behavioral incidents using CPR, AED operation, and first aid procedures.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and community partners to support holistic youth development.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or camp experience.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols; additional certifications in special education are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for teaching young children and working with diverse student populations.
