The Wake County Board of Elections is currently seeking a Voter Registration Specialist to join our team to provide exceptional customer service, organization skills, data entry and accuracy to connect written information to data.
What will you do as a Board of Elections Voter Registration Specialist?
Provide top notch customer service by telephone, email and in person
Process voter registration applications, cancellations and absentee ballot requests
Provide updates on federal and state forms and conduct routine audits
Respond and resolve customer and public inquiries of federal and state election laws
Provide accurate information to the public and assist front desk staff with office procedures
Assist with mail processing, sorting, collecting, and distribution
Assist in organizing voter outreach events and ensure the voter registration database is complete and accurate
NOTE: A typing test may be administered
About Our Team
The Wake County Board of Elections is responsible for conducting all elections held in Wake County. The Board locally administers State election laws. Principal functions include establishing election precincts and voting sites; appointing and training Precinct Officials; preparing and distributing ballots and voting equipment; canvassing and certifying the ballots cast in elections and investigating any voting irregularities. It maintains voter registration and participation records and provides public information on voters and elections. This position is in-person and will work at the Board of Elections Operations Center.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of job-related experience
Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Associate degree
Experience working in a county elections office
Customer service and data entry experience
Notary Public
Clear financial and criminal records check

Hiring Range: 26.07 - 29.81
Market Range: 26.07 - 33.55
