Physical Education and Health Teacher

Salary: $48,793.70 - $50,543.70 plus benefits
Hebrew Academy of the Capital District is seeking a highly energetic and qualified physical and health education teacher for the 26-27 school year.
Core Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Instruction: Plan and teach dynamic lessons covering various sports, fitness, and health topics, following school/state standards.
- Student Engagement: Motivate students, teach fundamental movement skills, and foster teamwork, discipline, and positive attitudes.
- Safety & Environment: Maintain an organized, safe, and clean gym/field, enforcing rules and managing student behavior.
- Assessment: Monitor and document student participation, progress, and skill development, providing constructive feedback.
- Health Promotion: Educate students on the importance of healthy lifestyles and physical activity.
Key Duties
- Set up and put away equipment.
- Adapt activities for diverse learners (varying abilities/needs).
- Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
- Manage behavior in the gym, cafeteria, and on playgrounds.
- Organize or coach extracurricular sports/events (e.g., Field Day).
Essential Skills & Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and child development.
- Strong instructional, motivational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom/gym setting and resolve conflicts.
- First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Relevant degree and state teaching license/certification preferred.
Pay: $48,700.00 - $50,500.00 per year
