Scope of Role:
This role is key member of our team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production operations.
Hours of Work:
- Monday - Friday
- 3:30pm - 1:00am
- May be required to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays, up to 55 hours per week, due to fluctuating business needs. The company provides as much advanced notice as possible when this occurs. Employee may consent to work up to 60 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performing preventive maintenance on food packaging equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards and regulations.
- Working closely with production supervisors and other departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Following all safety policies for personal safety of self and team members. May require personal protective equipment based on work assigned (gloves, goggles or face shield, rubber boots, etc.).
- Following Good Manufacturing Practices for the quality and safety of food products, including wearing a smock and hairnet in production areas. Requires removal of jewelry and cosmetic accessories (false eyelashes, artificial nails, etc.).
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Regularly use hands and arms to reach, handle, and operate equipment and tools.
- Frequently communicate with team members and hear verbal instructions and alarms.
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and move items up to 10 lbs.
- Frequently lift and move items up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to see clearly at close and long distances, maintain peripheral vision and depth perception, and adjust focus as needed to safely perform job duties.
Working Conditions:
- Working around packaging equipment with moving mechanical parts.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance within a food manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with PLCs, conveyors, motors, pumps, and food-grade equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
