Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced dynamic and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to join our post-frame design team. In this role, you will translate conceptual ideas and architectural plans into precise, comprehensive technical drawings and schematics that guide construction and design projects. The majority of our work is post-frame but we also work with standard wood framed projects. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life through meticulous drafting, system design, and graphic representation. Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D architectural drawings using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD, Revit.
- Create schematic diagrams, construction documents, interior design layouts, and mechanical system designs with clarity and accuracy.
- Utilize drafting standards and best practices to ensure consistency across all project documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to interpret project requirements and translate concepts into technical drawings.
- Incorporate technical specifications, material details, and system components into drawings for construction purposes.
- Use visualization tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max (or similar), variousanimation software to produce compelling presentations and renderings.
- Review drawings for accuracy, compliance with building codes, safety standards, and client specifications before submission.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in architectural drafting or related fields with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or Rhinoceros 3D.
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Bluebeam (for PDF markup), SolidWorks (for mechanical design), and other visualization or graphic design tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of schematics development, system design principles—including interior and mechanical systems—and construction documentation processes.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, building codes, and construction practices to ensure accurate project execution.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex technical information into clear visual representations.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting ideas visually.
- A degree or certification in architecture technology or related discipline is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is highly valued. Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
