Infection Preventionist
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infection Preventionist to join our team at Preferred Care MI. As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our patients and staff by preventing and controlling the spread of infections.
About the Role:
As an Infection Preventionist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective infection prevention and control programs across our healthcare facilities. This includes conducting surveillance and monitoring for infections, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and providing education and training to staff on infection prevention best practices. You will also be responsible for investigating and reporting infectious diseases, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to infection prevention.
Responsibilities:
Conduct surveillance and monitoring for infections, including reviewing infection data and identifying trends and patterns
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for infection prevention and control
Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention best practices, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and isolation precautions
Investigate and report infectious diseases, including conducting investigations and providing recommendations for improvement
Collaborate with other departments, such as quality improvement, infection control, and nursing, to ensure a comprehensive approach to infection prevention
Develop and maintain accurate records of infection prevention activities, including surveillance data, policies, and educational materials
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Requirements:
Certification as a Certified Infection Preventionist (CIP) or Certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Active Nursing license in the State of Michigan RN or LPN
