Join our dedicated team as an In-Home Caregiver (Personal Care Assistant) serving the Waterbury, Watertown, Cheshire, Naugatuck, and surrounding areas! Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure safety and well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices to safely move clients and prevent injury
- Support clients with cognitive challenges such as dementia or Alzheimer’s through engaging activities and memory care techniques
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Follow established care plans meticulously while communicating any concerns or observations to supervising healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home care, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring required
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care are advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient transfer and mobility assistance
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients’ quality of life
