Position Overview
The Associate or Clinical Therapist provides high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role may be filled by a licensed associate-level therapist working toward independent licensure, or by a fully licensed clinical therapist. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering psychotherapy interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient well-being.
Clinical Therapist (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC) are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus!
This position is a 1.0FTE and will be located in our Washington Ave Family Health Center in Vincennes Indiana.
Essential Functions
- Conduct intake assessments and formulate initial diagnoses (under supervision for associate-level clinicians).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using appropriate modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.).
- Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, coping skills, and available resources.
- Participate in crisis intervention and risk assessments (with supervisory support for associate-level clinicians).
- Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development to meet licensure and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with community members to support continuity and quality of care.
- Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical guidelines.
- Maintain all credentialing and privileging requirements.
- Meet organizational productivity standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work-Related Experience
- Experience in a mental health or social services setting (internship experience accepted for associate-level).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with complex behavioral health needs.
- Familiarity with the DSM-5.
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and protocols.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, or chronic disease management preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Mental:
- Ability to manage emotionally charged situations and provide support to patients in distress.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

Physical:
- Primarily sedentary role with prolonged sitting for sessions and documentation.
- Occasional walking to different offices or community-based locations.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, including typing.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting with private consultation space.
- Clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and emotionally challenging patient cases.
- Associate-level clinicians work under structured supervision with case reviews and clinical guidance.
Education, Certification, and Licensure
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
Certification: None required.
Licensure: Associate-level license in Indiana (LSW, LMHCA, LMFTA, or LAC) or
Independent licensure in Indiana (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC).
Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills (independent level).

Base Compensation
Associate Therapist - $53,040
Clinical Therapist - $66,000
