Duties
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems under supervision
- Support the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Learn to interpret schematics and technical manuals to aid in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
- Participate in fabricating parts and components using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and air brake adjustments
- Help with assembly and disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades
- Contribute to the upkeep of shop cleanliness and safety protocols while handling heavy lifting tasks safely
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn automotive diagnostics, repairs, and heavy equipment operation
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and electrical systems preferred
- Dealership or automotive repair experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for heavy machinery is essential
- Ability to follow detailed schematics and technical instructions accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Willingness to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset are highly valued
