Transport and accompany individual to program
Provide full assistance with transportation, ordering food, purchasing items, and handling money
Provide calm, proactive support when individual becomes frustrated
Provide constant line-of -sight supervision in the home and community
Assist with all activities of daily living, including dressing, hygiene, cooking, and laundry
Assist individual in making progress on their outcome and goals for the specified service as defined in their Plan of Care
Advocate for individual at all times for patient rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected
Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules when caring for the individual
Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual at all times
Report any changes in individual condition or situations to supervisor and family/guardian
Document services provided (CBS Log)
Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) required via iPhone / Android
Boggs Center -Introduction to Positive Behavior Supports course for DSPs is required PRIOR to working with the individual
Two years (2) working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with individuals with developmental disabilities
Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record (must obtain 5-yr certified driver history abstract from the MVC)
Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Background check and drug screening
Experience developing daily activity plans
Must fully comply with ALL Medicaid DDD requirements
Must be trustworthy and reliable so individual sand their families feel comfortable having them in their homes
Must possess good interpersonal skills, compassion and be sensitive to the individual's mental, emotional and physical needs
Must possess good physical stamina when performing tasks such as lifting or turning individuals
