Job Overview
The 4th-grade teacher prayerfully guides students academically, socially, and spiritually. They are responsible for delivering a high-quality, state-aligned curriculum that is distinctively integrated with LCMS doctrine, equipping students to grow as literate Christian citizens.
Qualifications
- Faith & Ministry: An active, practicing Christian who models a dynamic relationship with Christ and supports the mission and doctrinal stance of the LCMS.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
- Licensure: Hold or be eligible for a valid State of Iowa Teaching Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual & Faith Integration:
- Relate all secular subjects to Christian objectives and biblical truths.
- Foster a Christ-like classroom environment that encourages both grace and accountability.
Academic & Classroom Management:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction in all core 4th-grade subjects
- Develop and maintain clear, short-term and long-range lesson plans.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technologies to meet the diverse needs of 4th-grade learners.
- Establish a safe, effective, and fair discipline plan in the classroom.
- Conduct regular assessments, maintain accurate grading records, and communicate progress effectively to students and parents.
Professional & Community Duties:
- Maintain open, regular communication with parents regarding academic performance and behavior.
- Fulfill assigned non-instructional duties (e.g., playground monitoring, lunchroom duty, carline).
- Attend all faculty meetings, in-service training, and school-sponsored events
- Engage in continuous professional development and set annual professional goals.
