Oriental American Education Foundation- Full-Time Program Director
For over two decades, the Oriental American Education Foundation (OAEF) has supported U.S.-born children and children of immigrants in Flushing, Queens, a linguistically and economically diverse neighborhood. Founded in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, OAEF promotes academic achievement and social-emotional growth for disadvantaged youth through accessible, affordable, and culturally responsive after-school programming.
The Full-Time Program Director provides leadership and oversight for the DYCD COMPASS Elementary after-school program in Flushing, Queens. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role supervises daily operations, guides staff, and ensures the delivery of a safe, structured, and high-quality program aligned with organizational goals and DYCD standards. The position offers a salary range of $65,000–$70,000 based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set program goals and objectives under the Executive Director’s guidance.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the OAEF, DYCD, and SACC.
- Supervise, train, hire, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
- Recruit, enroll, and retain students to meet and exceed our funders' required enrollment and participation rate expectations.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and track attendance and student progress.
- Create a positive youth development environment that supports safety, learning, and well-being.
- Plan and carry out family events and parent meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with the school community and align programming with school goals.
- Support mental health referrals, inclusion services, accommodation plans, and behavioral support logs.
- Lead meetings, community partnerships, and outreach efforts as needed.
- And other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred in Education or Social Work . At least 2 years of youth program and supervisory experience, including 1 years in leadership. Must pass all background checks, have strong leadership and communication skills, and meet all clearance requirements. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Chinese are a plus.
