The Maintenance Technician serves as one of the leading faces of the community, including our corporate culture, mission, and values. The Maintenance Technician will work alongside the Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations of a 122 unit community.
Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Assist Lead Maintenance with all Maintenance requirements of property.
- Repair major and minor issues with equipment and buildings.
- Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion.
- Assist Lead Maintenance with the make-ready process.
- Maintain a clean community and a safe workspace.
- Maintain Swimming Pools as needed.
- Complies with Velo Residential's safety and risk-management policies by attending and participating in the community’s routine safety meetings, completing required training on OSHA and other safety related laws and requirements, and by reporting accidents and incidents promptly and accurately.
- Demonstrates customer services skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services, and completing assigned work orders with efficiency and urgency.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in maintenance or other related fields.
- Familiarity with hand-held tools & equipment.
- Preferred but not required certifications in HVAC, EPA, and CPO.
- Experience in distressed properties with the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments
- Deadline and detail oriented.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Employee is sometimes required to work for extended periods of time being flexible in the hours which could include nights and weekends.
- Must have the ability to react and address all emergency situations in a timely manner. Limited on-call requirements.
Position Supervision
- Employee reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
