Position: Program Administrator
Reports To: Director of Teaching and Learning
Status: Hourly Full-Time Staff Position, non-exempt

The Program Administrator is the operational backbone of PS1’s teaching and learning
initiatives, supporting students, faculty, and families, while ensuring the school’s programs run
smoothly and safely. This role is essential to maintaining the high-quality progressive education
experience families choose and invest in, translating the school’s mission and values into day-
to-day excellence, innovation, and joyful learning.
Major Responsibilities
Coordination and Management
- Serve as a primary support to the Director of Teaching and Learning in all aspects of
school program operations
- Support Director of Student and Community life in creating and implementing school and
family programing for social emotional learning, life-skills, pluralism, and community
building
- Partner with Operations to coordinate scheduling for classrooms and teachers for all
school events, such as conferences, picture day, and all school events
- Oversee logistics and act as administrative liaison to support the academic program and
program events
- Support student services, including standardized testing, outside evaluations, and
professional services, coordinating seamlessly among teachers, parents, and external
providers
- Coordinate class field trips, class learning celebrations, end of year class gatherings,
and circle time presentations
- Track and organize professional development opportunities for faculty and staff
- Coordinate and maintain inventory of curricular materials
- Lead initial hiring efforts, tracking applications, arranging interviews, and creating
schedules for candidates
- Be an active presence in classrooms and yards when called upon, modeling progressive
education principles
- Coordinate connections with outside organizations, fostering partnerships aligned with
PS1’s mission
