Night Shift Fabrication Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to lead our night shift fabrication team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership position where the supervisor is expected to actively participate in the fabrication and welding process while overseeing daily shop operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with steel, and be proficient in MIG welding, and have the ability to accurately read and interpret CAD drawings and fabrication prints. Previous experience as a Team Lead, Lead Fabricator, or Supervisor is required.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the fabrication, painting and shipping department while actively participating in production.
- Perform hands-on fabrication, fitting, and welding of steel products using MIG welding processes.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Lead by example by working alongside the fabrication team to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Train, mentor, and develop fabrication employees on equipment, welding techniques, and fabrication best practices.
- Troubleshoot fabrication, fit-up, and welding issues to maintain efficient workflow.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Quality departments to resolve production issues.
- Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with employee performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Promote continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety.
Qualifications:
- General Work Hours 4:30 PM to 3:30 AM
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on fabrication experience working with steel
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Team Lead, Lead Fabricator, or Supervisor in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with MIG welding.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and fabrication prints.
- Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, welding symbols, fit-up, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with daily hands-on production work.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
- AWS Welding Certification or equivalent.
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
