Recycle Radford is hiring Plant Operations, for its operation in Radford, VA. We are looking for a few talented individuals to help start our new recycling location in Radford, VA.
Tasks include:
- Assist with construction, installation and start up of new business
- Operation and maintenance of metal processing equipment
- Operation of forklifts, skid steers, manlifts, loaders and other small equipment
- Assist with installation, repairs, and maintenance of equipment
- Recordkeeping and sampling of products
- Loading, unloading, and sorting scrap metal
- Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
- General clean up and yard maintenance including but not limited to digging, sweeping, mowing and maintenance of weeds and brush
- General Labor as required
Skills Desired
- Industrial Maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of one or more of the following maintenance disciplines: AC/DC motors, gearbox maintenance, lubrication principles, welding, cutting torch, fabrication, NFPA 70E, and common maintenance hand tools.
- Operation and maintenance of forklifts and other mobile equipment
- Experience with conveyors, balers, and other recycling equipment
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Welding experience is a plus
Qualifications
- Ability to: lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally; crouch or bend at the knees frequently when sorting or picking to increase visibility; climbing to reach work site occasionally; stoop or bend at the waist frequently to increase visibility; reach at arms length frequently or overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk frequently; walk frequently on uneven ground; handle and grasp materials and tools continually; push and pull frequently when sweeping or cleaning; communicate by speech and hearing continually. Visual acuity needed for close detail work.
- Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed (50-60 Hrs a week)
- This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, including THC. Applicants should be aware that our organization maintains a drug-free workplace in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Pay & Benefits
- Maintenance and operations positions start at $19 an hour.
- 45-55 hour Schedule. OT available.
